Be mindful of black ice!
That’s the message from police after an accident on the Main Road in Glen Mona yesterday (Friday) which could have ended in tragedy.
The driver lost control of thier vehicle at around twenty past eight after going over a large patch of black ice.
It collided with a wall and stopped with the back of the car hanging over a 20 foot drop.
Police are urging road users to be aware of inclement weather and road conditions which at first may appear to be safe, especially in the mornings and at night and in areas which do not get caught by the sun until later in the day.
Police are thanking the public for their patience yesterday.
Emergency Services attended the scene and the driver was taken to Noble’s Hospital and later discharged with minor injuries.
