Police warn social media vigilantes

Police say using the internet to threaten or harass could land people in front of a judge.

Earlier today, officers removed a post from their Facebook page after users posted names and photos of people they accused of being paedophiles.

It follows reports of a couple approaching children in Pulrose.

But those who think they’re in the right could themselves be the ones facing criminal charges.

Sergeant Steve Ward of the Central Neighbourhood Policing Team is appealing for people to remain calm and let the police do their job.
