Police to check vehicle journeys

Don't make them unless 'absolutely necessary'

The Isle of Man Constabulary is reminding people to not make a car journey unless it's absolutely necessary.

The Roads Policing Unit says it will be closely monitoring the Island's roads, to ensure residents are adhering to the social distancing and self-isolation rules.

Officers will be stopping vehicles to enquire about their journey whilst keeping in the correct social distance.

Police are also asking residents to work as a community and be mindful of the 'stay at home and save lives' message.

You can find out more about what a 'necessary journey' is on the government website.
