Police are moving to reassure members of the public in Castletown after a man was seriously injured in a fight.
A 42 year-old local man remains in hospital with serious head injuries this morning following Wednesday evening’s incident, which led to a large part of central Castletown cordoned off yesterday (Thurs) as forensic examinations of the area were carried out.
A 35 year-old man arrested in the early hours of Thursday has now been released from police custody with no action taken.
However, a 30 year-old man has since been arrested and remains in custody this morning at police headquarters.
Police are grateful for the patience shown by local residents and traders whilst valuable evidence was collected.
Inspector Derek Flint says incidents like the one on Wednesday night are rare.
