Constabulary takes all claims seriously
The police say they will always do their best to help the victims of any type of abuse in whatever way possible.
The Isle of Man Constabulary has recently taken to its social media pages, to say it takes all such claims seriously.
There has been criticism of the police's handling of aspects of certain abuse cases both modern and historical, and some of the sentences handed out by the Manx courts for things like domestic violence, recently.
Detective Inspector Neil Craig says they are there for victims, even if they are unsure about or don't want to press charges, even if it's just to direct them to the appropriate services:
