Senders claim to be from the Metropolitan Police
The Isle of Man Constabulary has issued a warning over scam emails which claim to be from the Metropolitan Police.
They state that a case file has been opened concerning the recipient and that their cooperation is required.
They also threaten that if the recipient fails to respond, further action will be taken under a UK law which does not exist.
Officers are telling residents not to reply to the emails, click on any links or follow any instructions contained within them.
Instead, delete them and report them to the Cyber Security Centre for the Isle of Man.
