Police are hunting three teenage muggers who attacked a man in Douglas in the early hours of yesterday morning.
An 18 year-old was set upon by three men, aged between 16 and 20, at the top of Nelson Street.
One of those responsible had short black hair and wore a black tracksuit top and bottoms with a white stripe down the legs.
The gang stole a number of items including the man's jacket, passport and around £25 in cash.
After the incident one of the attackers fled along Church Street toward Athol Street, and another ran towards Lord Street, possibly carrying the stolen jacket.
Officers say it appears to be an isolated incident and such street crime is rare in the Island.
They are now appealing to anyone who was in the area to come forward to assist with their investigation.
In particular, they would like to hear from taxi drivers who may have been picking up fares outside the Outback.
Anyone with information which could help the investigation is asked to contact police on 631212, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
