A 'distraction burglar' who conned his way into an elderly woman's home and stole £300 has been condemned as cowardly by police.
The man called at the woman's house in Willaston on Friday afternoon, saying he had come to mend a leak.
Once inside, he took the cash from the living room.
The man is described as around 40 years old, 5' 5" tall, with short brown hair. He wore a T-shirt and trousers.
Police say the woman has been left shocked and upset, and they are appealing for residents on the Willaston estate to come forward with any information.
