Knife found at scene, DESC confirms
Police were called to St Ninian's Lower School at Bemahague to deal with an incident this morning.
A short statement has been released by the school, which does not specify the nature of it.
It has been confirmed to Manx Radio by the Department of Education, Sport and Culture that a knife was found at the scene, though.
The statement says: "We can confirm there was an isolated incident at St Ninian’s Lower School this morning which was dealt with swiftly by our staff and the police.
"Please be assured all students and staff are safe and continuing the school day as normal."
It ends by thanking everyone involved who brought what it says was a short incident to a safe conclusion.
The police have also offered a few points of clarification via the Isle of Man Constabulary Facebook page:
