Local candidates without 'relevant experience'
Police are asking the Manx public for help in filling vacant detective posts with UK candidates.
Detective Inspector David Dobbie says it's looking to fill up to eight roles in the Isle of Man Constabulary - following several elevations to the rank of 'sergeant'.
He says candidates here don't have the relevant experience to plug the skills gap in public protection and financial investigations.
The closing date for applications is on the 26 August.
Detective Inspector Dobbie says it's not desperate, but would like to use every method in the book to find the right people for the posts:
