Phones not answered at HQ
The Isle of Man Constabulary has apologised to a number of residents who called Police Headquarters and did not receive an answer.
In a statement, the force says new staff are being hired to deal with the calls to its landline.
Although not police officers, they'll be expected to handle calls that aren't urgent.
Presently, the Headquarters landline number 631212 can only deal with one caller at a time.
Police are reminding the public to call 999 in case of a genuine emergency.
For less urgent enquiries, callers can visit the iompolice.im website, where they'll find direct dial numbers for respective departments.
