The Stars Group confirms position following Gambling Commission decision
Island-based Pokerstars will implement a credit card ban on its customers by the April deadline, set by the Gambling Commission.
The ban, which starts on 14 April, comes after reviews of the industry by the commission and the UK government.
The Stars Group, which includes Sky Betting & Gaming and PokerStars, has issued a statement to Manx Radio following the announcement.
A spokesperson says the company is "committed to safer gambling and will continue to work with all relevant stakeholders to ensure [it] provides a safe gambling environment for all [its] customers."
A total of 24 million adults in Britain gamble, with 10.5 million of those doing so online.
Separate commission research shows 22% of online gamblers using credit cards are classed as problem gamblers.
