Chief Minister Allan Bell says a deal struck between Manx-based Pokerstars, its former rival Full Tilt Poker and the US authorities bodes well for the future.
Yesterday, Pokerstars revealed it had been given the green light to acquire Full Tilt – both companies will pay a total of $730 million to settle a case with the US Department of Justice.
In a blog post, Pokerstars says it’s now in a position to apply for a licence to cater for American players when or if online gaming is legalised across the Atlantic.
Mr Bell says it paves the way for the firm’s future success.
