Application to transform site on Mullinaragher Estate
Plans have been submitted to convert registered farm buildings near St Marks into a centre for Manx language.
Charity, Caarjyn Ny Gaelgey, has applied for permission to refurbish and extend a cottage, mill and barn on the Mullinaragher Estate.
In a statement, planners say they wish to refurbish the existing cottage to allow it to be full time accommodation for the manager of this centre.
The barn would be used as a registration/ meeting hub with education classes for existing Manx speakers wishing to develop further or for newcomers who wish to learn the language.
The mill building would be used as separate accommodation for attendees from both on and off Island.
