Ballagorey Methodist Chapel is currently disused
A planning application (25/90634/B) has been submitted to convert a former chapel into a single residential dwelling in Glen Mona.
Built in 1832 and rebuilt in 1866, Ballagorey Methodist Chapel is currently disused, and the proposal 'seeks to bring it back into productive use'.
The applicant says the plans 'preserves the building’s historic character while sensitively adapting it for modern residential use'.
If approved the building would be converted into a two-bedroom dwelling, with a new main entrance, rear patio doors, and secondary glazing, alongside upgraded access and parking for two vehicles.
It's hoped the existing windows can be retained and repaired.
There are plans to insert conservation-style rooflights, install a sustainable drainage and sewage treatment system, and plant native hedgerows and wildflower zones 'for biodiversity'.
