
Plans for a summer carnival in the Island's capital are gathering pace.
The event on Saturday 19 July is being co coordinated by Douglas council - and community groups, businesses and local residents are being urged to get involved.
Organisers want to see a procession of floats along the promenade followed by a cavalcade of vehicles, with stalls and attractions along the way.
Later, an 'after party' is planned on North Quay with live music and family entertainment into the evening.
Marketing and a carnival web site to promote the event are in the pipeline.
Stephen Pitts is chairman of the council's Regeneration and Community Advisory committee.
