Only 1 job for every 11 unemployed builders
Treasury Minister Eddie Teare says sorting out the Island’s planning system under new political leadership will mean more jobs.
This week, the government revealed unemployment had fallen to its lowest May level for seven years, but the data also shows there’s just one job for every 11 unemployed construction workers.
Mr Teare says government spending on capital schemes and infrastructure projects should give the industry a shot in the arm.
