Planning Committee chair admits system could put off some builders
Housing developers could be put off building new homes on the Isle of Man because of planning red tape.
That's the view of the Chair of the Planning Committee David Ashford.
The Douglas North MHK says affordable new build properties are needed if government is to meet its target of increasing the population to 100,000.
But he believes the planning system needs to support development:
