Manx Care says renal dialysis provision 'significantly impacted' during refurbishment
Manx Care is seeking planning permission for a mobile building at Ramsey Cottage Hospital.
The organisation says due to renovation works local renal dialysis provision has been 'significantly impacted' - creating a 'substantial gap' in services for patients requiring 'regular and life-sustaining' treatment.
In the application, Manx Care says that proposed unit will be 'temporary' but will be fully equipped to support the 'continuation and reinstatement' of essential renal services.
It adds a recent independent condition survey confirmed that further investment is required to bring the facility to an 'appropriate and compliant' operational standard.
The unit will be located within the hospital grounds.
