"It's gone on for donkey's years" says MHK
It is understood the Planning Committee is expected to review proposals from Manx Utilities for the next stage of its sewage treatment works in Peel, within a month.
Raw sewage is currently pumped out to sea near the breakwater in Peel Bay, resulting in the area's bathing water failing to meet the minimum quality standard.
Manx Utilities has previously stated that efforts to stop this practice have been stalled due to delays in land acquisition and issues obtaining specialist equipment.
Peel and Glenfaba MHKs Kate Lord-Brennan and Tim Crookall discussed it with Manx Radio's Andy Wint:
Person dies following road traffic collision at Hillberry
Contractors to start installing 20mph signs in Douglas and Onchan
Accessible bus stops rolled out across Bus Vannin network
Road closures in place following incident in Hillberry area
