BMA and Manx Care agree to a revised deal
The planned doctors' strike on the Isle of Man, due to start tomorrow (Wednesday 22 January), has been 'deferred'.
Manx Care and the British Medical Association have agreed to a revised deal around pay.
The health minister, Claire Christian, confirmed the news in Tynwald earlier:
She says the deal is now being considered by the BMA's members.
Speaking shortly after her speech, Ms Christian hinted there may be a way to fund a pay increase without cutting services or going over budget:
Manx Care says it will be in touch with patients whose appointments were due to be cancelled.
