Pictures of biggest cocaine seizure

Police are warning that serious and organised crime are as much a threat to the Isle of Man now as they ever were.

It follows the sentencing of a man earlier this week for importing cocaine worth £140,000 into the Island.

Twenty-four year old Steven Lee Hagan was jailed for eleven years.

Detective Inspector Kevin Wilson of the Drug Enforcement Unit says the significant sentence given to Hagan reflects the largest single seizure of cocaine by the constabularly, which came about through hard work and determination.

He says it's in everyone's interest to maintain the quality of life on the Island, and is urging anyone who has information relating to the importation or supply of drugs to pass it on to the police.

DI Wilson says the message is clear - If you bring drugs into the Isle of Man and you are caught the penalties will be severe.
