Salvation Army says residents are still having to 'dig deep' to fund basics
Many people on the Isle of Man are not earning what they need to sustain their lifestyles, according to the Salvation Army.
The organisation is holding a free budgeting course later this month which will help people understand their own attitudes to money and look at the impact borrowing can have.
It will start on 24 September and run over three sessions.
Debbie White is a debt coordinator and told Manx Radio people are finding themselves having to dig deeper in their pockets every time they visit the shops:
You can book a place on the budget course by calling the Debt Advice Service on 675702 or 0808 1624 606.
