Opponents to lobby govt over concession
Around 130 mainly elderly Manx residents have attended a public meeting to express opposition to the scrapping of free TV licences for the over-75s.
The Manx government announced it would stop funding the £145 annual concession in the 2015 budget - and the subsidy's due to be withdrawn from September.
The meeting voted unanimously to write to the Treasury Minister Eddie Teare, urging government to continue funding free licences - in line with the UK.
Terry Smith from the Island branch of the Royal Artillery Association chaired the meeting.
