First Shannon class boat for Island
Peel's new £2.2 million Shannon lifeboat has entered service.
The vessel - called Frank and Brenda Winter - is driven by the latest jet propulsion system and can reach 25 knots.
It's also safer and more manouevrable than the boat it replaces.
Allen Corlett is the operations manager and says the introduction of the all-weather boat hasn't been plain sailing:
