Banned from driving for three years
A Peel man's been banned from driving for three years after being caught two-and-a-half times the legal drink-drive limit.
Douglas courthouse heard how Mark Stanway Hide, of Wood View Court, had drunk around five pints of lager at a work party before deciding to drive home.
The 56-year-old then crashed his car in Glen Vine on his journey home.
Magistrates gave Hide credit for his 'remorse and co-operation with the emergency services'.
As well as the driving ban, Hide was also fined £1,500 and ordered to pay £125 in costs.
