Bigger lifeboat coming to the west next spring
Work is underway at Peel Lifeboat Station ahead of the arrival of a new lifeboat.
A Shannon class all-weather vessel is due to take over from the 27-year-old Ruby Clery in spring next year.
The new lifeboat will be bigger than the current Mersey class one, so the changes will ensure the station and breakwater can accommodate the replacement vessel.
The seven-month renovation project has been entirely funded by donations and legacies.
