Peel lifeboat was launched on Saturday afternoon after a distress call from a 30 foot yacht travelling from Strangford in Northern Ireland to Peel.
It went out at 3.15pm, reaching the yacht, which was 12 miles off the west coast of the Island, at about 4pm.
The lifeboat took the yacht 'Jetstream' under tow as it had lost its foremast and had debris trailing in the water.
Several of the four passengers were suffering from sea-sickness and after a two hour tow were safely brought to Peel harbour where they managed to manoeuvre under their own power.
