
Roads around Rheast Lane and Queen’s Drive were closed to traffic earlier this evening, and a number of people in the area were advised to leave their homes.
Since then a team from Manx Gas has ‘capped off’ the leaking pipe, and engineers are now in the process of re-routing the line (7.45pm).
The Emergency Services Joint Control Room said a short time ago it was hoped roads would be re-opening soon, and everybody would be able to return to their homes.
