Vice-Chair Sharon Lambert says the board will meet with developer ahead of decision

Peel Commissioners is encouraging residents to send in their views about a proposal to develop a boutique hotel on East Quay.

The local authority discussed the application at its public meeting - but opted to defer a decision until it had spoken to the applicant and heard from residents.

Plans for the site also include nine apartments and the redevelopment of the Castle Street Gardens.

Vice-Chair Sharon Lambert says the board would support the plans because it would develop a brownfield site - but has concerns about the height of the building and parking.
