Experts confirmed they were more likely from a marine mammal
Peel's coastguard has responded to a report of possible human remains on a beach in the west of the Island.
Attending alongside police, initial bones found did appear potentially human, however other bones found in the same area were more consistent with those of a marine mammal.
Both a UK pathologist and Manx Wildlife Trust's Lara Howe confirmed they were most likely from a seal.
The coastguard has thanked the member of the public for reporting the incident, adding it's better to be safe than sorry.
