Prom scheme prioritises people, says department
Pedestrians are the priority when it comes to redeveloping Douglas promenade.
That's the message from the Design Team Leader at the Department of Infrastructure Keith Podmore.
The DoI has made changes to its designs after consulting various user groups who raised concerns about the regeneration.
Plans include providing extra space on the walkway and improved public safety.
Mr Podmore says the vision of the scheme is to bring the promenade back to the people:
