Two men assisting police with enquiries
A man has suffered ‘significant’ injuries after a crash in Glen Vine in the early hours of this morning.
Police say the road traffic collision involved a car and a pedestrian on Peel Road – just past the Glen Lough campsite.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 1.50am - officers believe the man had been walking home alone from a night out.
A police spokesperson said: “The investigation is underway and as yet the full circumstances of the incident are not yet confirmed.
“The collision happened when the street lights were not illuminated, in hours of darkness, where there is no pavement.”
The road was closed for a number of hours whilst the incident was dealt with.
Two men are assisting police with their enquiries.
Anyone who saw what happened, and who hasn’t spoken to officers, is asked to contact Police Headquarters on 631212.
