
An ambitious fund-raising escapade may have set new heights for Manx charities to match.
Sixty people slept under the stars at the summit of Snaefell overnight on Saturday (14 June) to raise funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and the appeal for a dedicated breast unit at Noble's Hospital.
The idea proved inspiring: all places on the midsummer sleepover were quickly taken - and a waiting list was formed!
Scaling the slopes and camping out up there involved liaison with the mountain railway, the summit restaurant, civil defence teams, the Met Office and support from Breakthrough's sponsors Swagelok.
