The Health Minister says a lack of a specialist eye treatment in the Island has not led to patients going blind.
Wet age related macular degeneration is the most common cause of sight loss in elderly people.
Island residents with the chronic condition are not treated for it here but are referred to a unit in Aintree in Liverpool.
However, David Anderson says while it’s a priority for patients to be treated locally, it’s not putting patients at a disadvantage.
