Patients kept in ED overnight due to lack of admission capacity

Manx Care says Noble's Hospital has had to care for patients in the Emergency Department overnight due to a lack of admission capacity.

The healthcare body says the hospital is operating at OPEL 4 - the most severe rating.

In a statement on social media, Manx Care says patients have been staying in single rooms while in ED, and work is ongoing to create room on inpatient wards.

Those who need medical treatment are being urged to use other healthcare options such as pharmacies and the minor injuries unit at Ramsey where possible.
