Steam Packet deal awaiting Tynwald approval
TravelWatch Isle of Man believes the government has to ensure the best interests of passengers, should a deal to buy the Steam Packet be reached.
Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan is seeking Tynwald approval to finalise a £124m agreement to purchase the firm next week.
It's been described as a 'once-in-a-lifetime opportunity' by Chief Minister Howard Quayle, and a number of senior ministers have publicly backed the move.
