Party politics fails to find favour with Manx public

But Transform Isle of Man says 'the fight goes on'

For party politics on the Isle of Man the General Election of 2026 may be a bruising memory.

82 candidates stood, in total, for 24 seats on offer across the 12 constituencies.

But only two from a recognised Manx political party impressed the electorate enough to be in the queue to take the oath of office today (28 September).

John Moss has been looking at how the political parties fared at this election:

The Isle of Man’s newly elected MHKs will be sworn-in to their new roles from 11.30am.

The first sitting of the House of Keys, to elect the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker, will then take place at 2.30pm.
