
A member of the Liberal Vannin Party believes the resignation of East Douglas MHK Brenda Cannell from the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure highlights what's wrong with the current system of government in the Isle of Man.
Kate Beecroft was speaking after Mrs Cannell left her role as member with responsibility for leisure, including the Island's bus service, during a public meeting, called to air concerns over the new bus timetable.
Mrs Cannell claimed she had not seen the revised schedule until September 7 when she raised concerns, but had no co-operation from the minister or the director of public transport.
The LVP is applauding what it sees as Mrs Cannell's 'honesty and integrity' and says her resignation shows the current system of patronage doesn't work.
However, Mrs Beecroft says no approach has been made to see if she wants to join them:
