Tynwald has offered its condolences to Norway after the atrocities which stunned the country last Friday.
At least 76 people were killed in the bombing in Oslo and shootings in Utoya.
The two nations maintain close links, as a result of their shared Viking heritage, and President of Tynwald, Clare Christian, has extended the Isle of Man’s condolences to the President of the Norwegian parliament.
He and his wife were guests at this month’s Tynwald Day celebrations and Mrs Christian says their visit has brought home in a 'very immediate and personal way' the impact such traumatic incidents have had.
