Parking charges for Tynwald members delayed until June 

New policy to end free parking introduced during the Covid pandemic pushed back as administrative work continues

Plans to reintroduce parking charges for Tynwald members have been pushed back by a month, the infrastructure minister has confirmed.

A new parking policy, which will bring an end to free parking arrangements introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic, was approved by the Council of Ministers on 6 March.

The policy was first introduced in April 2020 after lockdowns and remote working prompted the suspension of charges for government spaces.

Infrastructure Minister Michelle Haywood says while the new policy was initially due to take effect from 1 May, implementation has been delayed as administrative work continues.
