A record entry of 1,600 people are preparing for one of the Island's annual sporting highlights this weekend - the Parish Walk.
It's a gruelling 85 mile trek for seasoned race walkers - but for many, it's a long-awaited personal challenge - to walk further than they thought possible - however far that is.
The Parish Walk has changed dramatically since it began in 1960 when it seemed an impossible feat, suitable only for athletes.
Numbers dwinded to just 125 in 1989 - but have shot up since Clerical Medical became sponsors a year later.
