Down to significant drop in bookings and soaring costs
One of the Island's biggest function venues says it's going to stop taking conference and large event bookings from early next year.
The Best Western Palace Hotel in Douglas says it's seen a significant drop in the number of bookings since the Covid pandemic.
It also says the cost of hosting these kinds of events have soared.
Brett Martin, Chief Executive of Palace Holdings, says the main function space at the front of the hotel will be re-configured to meet changes in demand:
