Low interest in local authority elections not just a Manx problem
A pay packet is not the right way to encourage more people to stand for local government seats.
That's the view of Glenfaba MHK Geoffrey Boot.
Many seats went uncontested in local authorities at the last General Election.
But Mr Boot thinks the problem exists on a wider scale:
Smile of Mann programme to start in primary schools next year
Loganair passengers yet to be reunited with bags left in Manchester on Sunday
Kirk Michael man taking on 31 marathons in 31 days in memory of friend
Government grant partially funded fishing vessel later used for smuggling
