The Isle of Man's farming industry could hold the key to the future of our energy needs.
Environmental consultant Peter Taylor is to give a presentation as to how at the Positive Action Group's latest public meeting this evening (Monday).
It's thought energy crops, i.e. a plant or tree grown specifically for fuel, could cut our dependence on overseas supplies and save millions in the process.
Mr Taylor says they're already used on the Island, albeit on a small scale, with DAFF powering its new headquarters with wood chippings.
He says turning over just a small percentage of agricultural land to energy crops could yield significant results.
The meeting will be held at the Manx Legion Club at 7.30pm and members of the public are welcome to attend.
