Steam Packet managers say the cancellation of Rally Isle of Man will have an impact on the Island's tourism industry.
The event, normally held each summer, was due to take place at the end of next month, but was called off last week, with promoters citing the date change as a key factor.
Steam Packet chief executive Mark Woodward said: 'We are particularly saddened and disappointed to hear of the cancellation of Rally Isle of Man. The rally has always been a very popular event for the Island and its cancellation will have an inevitable knock-on effect for the local tourism industry.
'It is a shame that the change of date has proved to be an issue for some, as lower rates for travel should have encouraged more visitors to the event. A large number of competitors booked for the event are very disappointed.'
