PAC must investigate IRIS - Cannan

The MHK who initiated a Tynwald investigation into the multi-million pound IRIS project says there has to be public accountability where such large sums of money are involved.

Michael member David Cannan asked the Public Accounts Committee to examine all matters relating to the design, construction and operation of the sewage treatment scheme, and just before Christmas it was confirmed the study would be going ahead.

The committee, Tynwald's watchdog on public spending, will also look at the section of pipeline between Douglas and Meary Veg, Santon and the management of the Meary Veg treatment works.
