A number of fish have been found dead in the river near Poulsom Park
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is advising pet owners to keep their animals away from a section of the Silverburn River.
A number of fish have been found dead in the river near Poulsom Park this morning, with an investigation underway into the cause.
As a precaution, the department said it is advising people not to let their pets enter the river between Ballasalla and Castletown harbour at this time.
Manx Radio contacted the department after a post on social media said there were a lot of dead fish near the park and questioned if there was any link to the fire at Castletown and Malew Fire and Ambulance Station on Thursday evening (13 August).
