DoI installation triggers mass response
There's been a major response online, after the appearance of unusual traffic calming measures on a popular through-route into Douglas.
For some years residents on Strang Road, Braddan, have complained about the amount of traffic using the route up from Union Mills.
A meeting was held some time ago to discuss the options.
Now, the Department of Infrastructure has installed several large solid blocks across half the road to slow traffic down.
But that's prompted an outpouring of criticism from perplexed residents and motorists - who've labeled it 'out of touch', an 'eyesore' and 'an accident waiting to happen'.
There are also complaints that buses, which use the route on their way to Noble's Hospital, are finding it a squeeze.
