Orchid Walk at Close Sartfield

There's a chance to see the most spectacular display of orchids on the Island today.

The first of this year's annual "Orchid Walks" at the Manx Wildlife Trust's Close Sartfield reserve at Ballaugh Curragh takes place at 2.30pm (Sun)

There's a chance to see six species of orchids in their natural habitat, including the common spotted and heath spotted orchid, the twayblade and the greater butterfly orchid.

The walk will be led by the Trust’s Reserves Officer, Tricia Sayle and the cost is £2.50 per person with proceeds going to the Trust. You should wear wellies or walking boots as the ground is quite wet. The walk is not suitable for small children and no dogs are permitted on the nature reserve.

Another Orchid walk will take place at Close Sartfield next week (17th)
